Muncie Sanitary District to temporarily close all offices to public amidst COVID-19 concerns

Muncie Sanitary District announced this morning that it will be closing all offices to the public effective immediately as a preventative measure to combat the spread of COVID-19. No MSD employees have been diagnosed with the virus; this decision was made based on recommendations from local, state and federal health officials. The temporary closure will last for at least two weeks.

The Sewage Utility Billing Department will be closed to the public during this time. Residents can make payments via several other methods:

  • they can pay online at munciesanitary.org,
  • they can pay via telephone by calling 855-984-1201 (this is a toll-free number that is open 24/7),
  • they can mail their payments to Muncie Sanitary District, P.O. Box 2605, Fort Wayne, IN 46801, or
  • they can place payments in the drop-box in front of City Hall.

The drop-box at City Hall will be monitored every three hours to ensure all payments will be applied to residents’ accounts within one business day of when the money is dropped off.

While the offices are closed to the public, all departments and services will continue to operate. Sewer Maintenance will continue to work as usual, providing 24/7 services. Trash and recycling pick-up services will also continue to run as regularly scheduled.
