Subject: Leaf Season Update
We’re anticipating a potential start date of our annual leaf season pick-up on Saturday, November 2nd or Wednesday, November 6th, 2024. During leaf season our crews will pick up:
-Monday-Wednesday routes on Wednesdays between 2-5p.
-Thursday-Friday routes on Saturdays from 7a-11:30a.
– We typically run leaf season for 4-6 weeks until all leaves are picked up.
In the meantime, Petersen grapple trucks are instructed to only pick up leaves in paper leaf bags containing 10 or more bags.
-Leaves in plastic bags will not be picked up until leaf season pick-up officially begins. Leaves in plastic bags cannot be dumped in the yard waste pile and must be dumped separately and debagged by hand.
-Leaves in paper bags can go directly to the yard waste/shred pile because the paper bags are bio-degradable and can be shredded.
We recommend during this time if you’re unable to obtain paper bags or have smaller quantities of leaves in plastic bags:
-Start a pile away from the curb until leaf season officially starts in the next few weeks.
-For small quantities of yard waste in plastic bags, you may place them in your toter for regular pick up on your trash day.
Limbs and brush will still be picked up weekly. They need to be stacked in piles within 3 feet of the edge of the street and not mixed in with other bulk items or bags.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
