Leaf season starts on Saturday, November 1st, 2025. Your bagged leaves will be picked up separately on or after your normal trash day.
Starting this year, leaves must be bagged in paper biodegradable leaf bags only. We no longer accept leaves in plastic bags. You can pick up free leaf bags at the Muncie Sanitation and Recycling Department (2121 N MLK Jr. Blvd) during regular business hours, Monday-Friday between 7a-3pm.
During leaf season MSD will pick up on the following schedule:
-Monday-Wednesday routes on Wednesdays between 2-5p.
-Thursday-Friday routes on Saturdays from 7a-11:30a.
– We typically run leaf season for 3-5 weeks until all leaves are picked up.
We ask that your leaves be out by the curb on your trash day, separated from household trash, and not placed on your container. City Ordinance 96.05 prohibits the raking or blowing of leaves, litter, and other debris into the streets.
