SCHEDULE OF RATES AND CHARGES FOR THE USE OF AND THE SERVICE PROVIDED BY THE MUNCIE SANITARY DISTRICT
In January of 2024, the Commissioners announced and approved a master agreement with Baker Tilly Municipal Advisors that includes cost analysis for a rate analysis for revenue, a Cost of Service Study, and a Financial Capability Analysis. MSD sewer rates had not been evaluated since 2016.
On September 18, 2024, Baker Tilly presented the Cost of Service Study and presented a proposed schedule of sewer-use rates for the next four years. The Commissioners announced a Public Meeting would be held on October 2, 2024.
Following the Public Hearing on October 2, 2024, the Board of Sanitary Commissioners of the Muncie Sanitary District approved Resolution No. 2024-14 “Amending the Schedule of Sewage Rates and Charges” for the use of and the service provided by the Muncie Sanitary District. The new rates took effect on January 1, 2025, with additional updates scheduled for the following three years.
