Good Housekeeping Employee Training

Every year the Stormwater Management Department is mandated through our Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to host an annual training for applicable department heads and municipal employees regarding pollution prevention and municipal good housekeeping. We offer this training virtually and in-person and you can complete it virtually by following the steps below.

Following this annual training, departments are also required to do annual onsite inspections with our Inspector to update their facility’s required documents that include your Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan ( SWPPP’s), and your Spill, Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) documents. These documents have all of the information you need for preventing pollution, responding to spills, and properly disposing of cleanup materials. All documents are to be reviewed on an annual basis and updated with current contact information for each department.

We rely on your cooperation with our stormwater program to ensure that we are achieving compliance with all permit requirements.  Spill prevention and good housekeeping protect our waterways and water quality. Stormwater Quality Good Housekeeping & Pollution Prevention Training

This is an annual mandatory municipal employee training for all applicable employees in Muncie, Delaware County, the Town of Yorktown, and Ivy Tech Community College of Muncie. The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) requires that all applicable full-time and part-time employees attend an annual pollution prevention training.
