Administration

The administrative section works hand in hand with other departments in the Sanitary District, Muncie’s industrial community, the Chamber of Commerce, City-County Board of Health, and state and federal regulatory agencies in the identification of potential sources of pollution and the cooperative steps needed to reduce or eliminate the effects these pollutants could have on the environment.

Through the combined efforts of the BWQ and the industrial community, 34,000 pounds of heavy metals (Cadmium, Chromium, Copper, Lead, Nickel, and Zinc) alone are no longer being discharged into the White River on an annual basis.
