Most of this water is salty ocean water. Only 3% of the Earth’s water is fresh water we can drink. However, about 2% of fresh water is frozen in polar icecaps and icebergs that we can’t use. That leaves only 1% of fresh water for people, animals and plants to use. It’s not a lot of water, and that’s why keeping it clean is so important." |
