Update: Leaf season is now over. All leaves should be taken to East Central Recycling at 701 E. Centennial Ave. Thanks!
Beginning October 25, 2011 the Muncie Sanitation Department will begin their annual Leaf Season Pick-up. The schedule is as follows; if your trash collection day is on Monday or Tuesday your bagged leaves will be picked up on Tuesday afternoon, if your trash collection day is on Wednesday or Thursday your bagged leaves will be picked up on Thursday afternoon and if your trash collection day is on Friday your bagged leaves will be picked up on Saturday morning. This schedule will continue through leaf season spanning approximately 4-6 weeks. We ask that your leaves are bagged and out by the curb separated from your household trash and not placed in your Toter. Do not use blue recycle bags for your leaves. City Ordinance number 96.05 prohibits the raking or blowing of leaves, litter and any other debris into the streets. Absolutely no leaves are to be raked or blown in the streets.
