You can take your used motor oil to East Central Recycling located at 701 E. Centennial Avenue in Muncie. 

The Muncie Sanitary District recently purchased a waste oil heater to recycle used motor oil and produce heat for the sanitation garage.

Through its new program, the MSD is accepting used motor oil from the Muncie community, and expects to save taxpayers up to $14,000 in heating costs.

"It's a win-win-win," Nikki Grigsby, MSD recycling coordinator, said in a press release. "Citizens save money since there are no disposal costs, they receive a certificate for a credit on their taxes, and it saves taxpayer dollars by providing a source of fuel to heat the sanitation garage."
